Did you edit this any more after you and I discussed it? There was a point where you proposed a version and I agreed to it.
-
I thought it was very good. I've never seen anything like the neurodiversity section before. I think it's very good to have, and is well worded.
-
@BlainCellars
For the neurodiversity section, it's just a very relevant point that comes up a lot in this space.The Equal Vote code of conduct on that section just got a rewrite actually. Let me see if I can dig up the new version there. I'm personally happy with either.
"3. On neurodiversity: Electoral reform benefits from having a large number of outside-the-box thinkers, including people who are on the spectrum or who may think differently for a variety of reasons. Many of these individuals have made huge contributions to the field, in part due to their ability to process information in novel ways, or see things from another perspective. Different modes of communicating and missed social cues can manifest as apparent rudeness, condescending tone, or interrupting. Please try to keep in mind that this may be a factor and that it may not be personal. (As always, if negative behavior is excessive or ongoing, follow the guidelines in this code of conduct.)
-
@SaraWolk outside-the-box thinking should be hyphenated.
-
@Jack-Waugh The new proposed edit is a comment in the sidebar. It's not substantively different, but some folks thought it read better. What do you think?
-
@SaraWolk I think the version you propose in the sidebar would be fine, except that I would substitute "many" for "a large number of".
-
Great. I updated it as suggested. If Connor and David approve it as well we can call it done and check the Code of Conduct off the list.
