Attn All: VotingTheory.org Board Meeting Coming Up!
-
Hi Everyone,
It's been a busy time for all of us and we had a lot to do and discuss in the world of electoral reform, but it's past time for us to reconvene, put some energy into internal matters and have another board meeting.Please put in your availability here!
We're overdue for council member elections, and we have a variety of opportunities and need for volunteers and moderators (who don't have to be council members) as well. We'd also love to hear your ideas for what our goals for this forum are over the next couple of years.
If you're interested in joining us, please put in your availability on the When To Meet poll below. The days and times proposed are far enough out that we can have a couple weeks to get as many people's availability as possible and then still announce it far enough out to comply with our bylaws and then have time to promote it so we get some good attendance and people can plan to be there.

Gary Litke -
I have a lot going on this week related to burying someone who dedicated her life to the political struggle for peace and justice for all. Not that I'm constantly busy with it, but I could be called on to help with one aspect or another at any time and that is my priority.
I suggest you schedule the meeting even if I fail to give you a timely indication of when I will be available. Maybe it will work out that I can participate anyway.
-
@jack-waugh I'm so sorry for your loss.
I think it's important that you be there, but we're looking at scheduling roughly a month out so we can make it inclusive and find a time that as many of the council members as possible (current and prospective) can make it. I know you are usually fairly flexible so hopefully we can find a time that will work for everyone.
-
I'm available pretty much any time with notice, but sometime, not yet exactly pinned down, in late April, there will be a memorial meeting and whenever that is set, that will be my priority for whatever date is set for it.
-
Hi, I'm curious to learn more, and I should also be available in late April
-
@arendpeter said in Attn All: VotingTheory.org Board Meeting Coming Up!:
and I should also be available in late April
About me, what I meant to say but maybe failed to make clear, is that there will be a date in late April when I will not be available but I am available almost any other time.
-
@jack-waugh ah my mistake
Yeah I'm sure we'll find a date, I'm pretty free in general
-
@sarawolk I have indicated my availability.
-
[UPDATE: We heard from Connor and that date and time works for him as well!]
ORIGINAL POST: We've now heard back from everyone but Connor Frankston and we have one date with 10/10 of us available. (Jack said he's available anytime so didn't fill out the poll,) so at this point I think it's looking likely to be Sunday April 30th at 1pm-4pm Pacific. (I'm hoping this will be around an hour and a half, but who knows.)
I just sent out one last reminder email to the council to vote in the poll but will call the date and get this on the calendar on Wednesday. So consider this the last call to put in your availability here: https://www.when2meet.com/?19251532-2ZDgh
We'll definitely need everyone there for quorum, plus hopefully some new people signing up for some responsibility so please keep that time slot open!
-
@sarawolk 1pm to 4pm in which time zone?
-
@toby-pereira Pacific Time.
-
@sarawolk Pacific Daylight Time, so UTC -7? So 8pm to 11pm UTC. (And 9pm to 12 midnight for me in the UK)
-
I think the When to Meet automatically adjusted for our time zones when we filled it out?
"Time zone: Pacific Time (PT). UTC -7. now 3 hours behind New York."
